Camp Like a Girl at Rad Night!

As summer comes to an end, there’s still time for a campout or two before the kids head back to school and the chill of autumn sets in. Naturally, we hope you’ll indulge yourselves and keep getting outdoors even after Labor Day weekend!

Nicole Biergiel and Sarah Klooster are seasoned campers who love the outdoors and recently taught a Rad Night class in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone. Rad Night, created by Kendall Klein and Paola Pereira, is a monthly series of women teaching women about any topic under the sun.

Nicole and Sarah demystified camping a little by having participants practice putting up tents and lighting stoves and also discuss how to eat well when camping!

They invited us to talk about our cookbook, which they had on display, and share our camping experiences.

Other activities included making your own trail mix, figuring out where you are on the camping spectrum (anywhere from being a total glamper to a trailblazing backpacker), and covering safety rules when camping.

It was a fun event to be a part of. If you’re local to Santa Barbara you can sign up for other Rad Night events here. It’s truly a great place to meet other women and build community!

Cheers!

Gail, Denise and Lindsey
