To Our Many Followers and Lovers of Food,
We hope you’re having a great holiday season! As you might guess, we are truly happy campers with the arrival of our printed cookbook, just in time for the holidays! Our yearly Winter Solstice celebration with the Gourmet Girls at Large was a huge success. Thank you Gourmet Girl Jen Shively for hosting. It was an extraordinary evening with lots of our usual storytelling and camaraderie. We’ve been friends — cooking amazing meals together — for 18 years!
The theme of this year’s dinner was Surf’n’Turf. Delicious scallops being prepared by Maury. Then there’s Jen slicing up the filet mignon. Accompaniments included mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, roasted veggies, smoked salmon salad, and a divine chocolate dessert (made with tofu for the almost vegans) that Yvonne Chin brought to our festive table. Seyburn always provides such delicious wines from Buttonwood Farm and Winery, of which she is part owner.
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: We hope you’ll join us for a book signing at Buttonwood Farm & Winery’s tasting room patio, Saturday, December 17, 12:30-2 pm, Solvang, CA. Come meet authors Gail and Denise. We’ll provide a few snacks from the “Ample Appetizers” section of our cookbook, paired with Buttonwood’s estate wines. A signed cookbook, a bottle of wine and a few camping accessories will make a much appreciated gift for the outdoor types on your list!
