Let’s Talk Turkey!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Well, almost.

Gourmet Girl Gail here. I’m off to Phoenix for the holiday with a dear friend. We’ll be staying in an RV Park run by Scott Swanson and his mother. They’ll be cooking the turkeys and we’ll be helping with the sides. Sugarless cranberry sauce is a specialty of mine during this time of year. Instead of sugar, I use pineapple juice. It tastes wonderful!

Recently retiring from the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, Scott is also a 3rd generation campground owner who recently purchased his Gila Bend property and has converted it into the KOA system as the Gila Bend KOA-Journey. Winston is his pooch that oversees their 4000 sq. ft. Kamp K9 and doggie walk areas throughout the 40 acres of land.

Sounds like we’ll have a blast! I’ll be sure to take lots of photos to share in my next blog post.

In the meantime, wishing you and yours a day filled with gratitude for whatever you feel thankful for! Family, friends, good health, and being in nature immediately come to mind. Whether you’re cooking your turkey at the campground or at home in your kitchen, try to make it as stress-free as possible. Holidays often come bundled with stress factors. Ask for help in the kitchen or at the campsite. Delegate! Take a restorative yoga class the day before festivities begin. Let it be a day of wonder, connecting, and sharing stories around the campfire or hearth at home.

Best to all and have a lovely Thanksgiving!
Gail
