Hello! And welcome to springtime!

March 20 was the first day of spring so, yes, spring has sprung! All winter long we’ve been lining up book signing events for the spring and summer months and wanted to keep you posted with what’s happening.

On Saturday April 8, we will have a book signing at Tecolote Bookshop in the upper village of Montecito. If you come, bring your appetite because we’ll be doing a cooking demo in the lovely courtyard outside the shop. The divine Elizabeth Stewart will have us on her Art & Antiques radio show 1290 am kzsb at 10 am the day before to help promote the event. (Did we tell you she has her own book just out? It’s titled The Savvy Appraiser: Collect, Value, Divest.)

The following Saturday, April 15, we’ll be at We Olive in Ventura signing books and serving appetizers, using their ingredients. Come and join us to taste a recipe from our cookbook and a new surprise recipe!

Then on April 29, we’ll be showing and selling at the S.B. Business Expo at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Hotel. It’s bound to be an exciting event, inspiring and connecting community owners with resources in Santa Barbara, as well as hearing the two well-known keynote speakers. Find us in the Author’s Showcase area!

Moving into May, the unique and amazing Wonder (a gift shop in Arlington Plaza) will be hosting a book signing for us. Proprietors Peter and Margaret Musante are always warm and welcoming. Plus, what great timing for everyone, customers included, being that it’s the day before Mother’s Day!

June 3, an overnight camp-out at Buttonwood Winery up at the pond is in the works. This would be a very special event with limited space. Stay tuned for further information!

Adventure 16 in West Los Angeles is an awesome camping store and we’ll be doing a book signing/demo in their parking lot on Saturday, June 17.

July is wide open! We’re talking to Bedford Winery in Los Alamos about an event there and July would be the perfect month. Stephan, the owner, is a true bibliophile and an amazing chef/host in his own right, who does events all year round, including his annual Mushroom Festival, which is both an education and a feast. The last time Gourmet Girls Gail and Denise stopped by for a visit, he let us peek inside his shed where he keeps all of his cooking utensils and tools, including an array of cast iron pots and pans. One in the collection was so large it could easily feed an army, using one of our many cast iron recipes, of course. You can bet we’re jonesing to get our hands on that pot!

August is our road trip month. We’ll be heading up to Ashland, Oregon, to do a 2-day event (August 19, 20) at Dancin Vineyards, thanks to Laurie Sager, a former Gourmet Girl, who introduced us to Dan and Cindy, the visionary owners. Laurie also did the landscaping of this breathtaking property.

We’re so excited to start our tour! We’ll add further book signings to our events calendar as they come along, so keep checking our calendar!

Hope to see you at one or more of these fabulous venues.

Happy Trails!

Gail, Denise, and Lindsey
